Introduced to Yoga in 2010 during a grief retreat  in Washington, my personal practice has taken me through a class 4 river rapids ride of elation, depression and anxiety, 3 huge life changes (two positive one,  well see my introduction to yoga), and  the general rollercoaster of life school of lessons.  In 2015, on my second try (insert  amazing life change here and introduce our newest family member Jakob) I was able to complete a major goal on my bucket list by graduating from Joonbug Yoga School in Shelton, WA and eagerly began teaching as an 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, in Mason and Thurston counties. Fast forward to the New Year, it’s 2018 and I’ve continued my dedication to sharing yoga with everyBODY by opening my very own studio. Our amazing teacher team bring a combined 25+ years of teacher experience to Flying Heron Yoga Studio. 

In my professional life I am a public health educator who lives to show people ways to eat Kale and Quinoa (kidding, no one willingly eats  the quinoa!) I share cancer reduction strategies with people and love my career. 

In my spare time, (is that really a thing? I have a nearly 4 year old little boy who makes the energizer bunny look like a turtle) you’ll find me cooking ( yes, kale AND quinoa), hiking Its  taking lots of pictures, being a mom to some great young men and wife to an amazing man  and infusing yoga into my entire life.

My Yoga classes are a dynamic blend of effort + ease, sweating + relaxation and laughter, with numerous opportunities and options given to make each individual class easier or harder, depending on how you feel that day. As a teacher, I strive to help my students find compassion (for self as well as others), patience, and growth both on and off the mat.
